Program Details
OAP ACA Whitewater Kayaking Instructor Course - $500.00

The American Canoe Association (ACA) is a worldwide organization, dedicated to promoting safety and education in paddlesports. The ACA whitewater kayak instructor certification is the gold standard for kayak instruction in the US. If you are looking to improve your skills, and share your passion for paddling, this is a way to take your personal boating to a whole new level. With this certification, you will have everything you need to start teaching classes of your own.

Kayakers should be, at minimum, solid Class III paddlers who are interested in learning how to become instructors. Participants will need to give special attention to details in their skills and content delivery. The course is divided into two parts. The first weekend will be held on August 4-5, 2018 and the second part will be during VCU's fall break, October 18-21, 2018.

Cost: A $200 deposit is required to reserve a spot in the course with the entire balance due by August 4.

VCU Student: $200, Member: $400, Non Member: $500 + ACA membership fees

Date: September 22-23 and October 18-21, 2018

Location: Richmond, Virginia

Difficulty: Advanced (Instructor permission required. Contact Joey Parent, parentaj@vcu.edu.)
